HAND QUILTING

Our quilts are made entirely by hand, taking up to 2 months to complete. Fresh colours are block printed on mulmul cotton. One of the unique qualities of our quilts lies in the process of carding or dhunai. A process which takes a minimum of seven days; a kilo of cotton wool is refined to 100 grams of handpicked soft fluffing—completed using two carders. The filling is then evenly distributed with the chhappa. The last stage of the process is hand quilting. The stitching pattern, either a geometric, floral or leaf design is marked on the block printed mulmul. These patterns are meticulously sewn by our skilled artisans, completing the final stage with excellence in every stitch—an authentic artisanal piece resulting in a beautifully light quilt offering incredible warmth.
